A Tablet PC is usually a slate shaped portable computer that can be operated with ones fingers or a special stylus. Keyboards are not necessarily parts of these machines and if they are it is always possible to remove them or flip the behind the screen.

Before you actually purchase a Tablet PC for aviation purposes please be careful not to use a device with a standard hard disk drive limited to operating altitudes of 10,000 ft. Using such a device above this altitude without a pressurized cabin implements a risk of failure.
Fortunately many Tablet PCs can be ordered with a Solid State Drive (SSD) instead. This has no moving elements anymore and implies no problems at higher operating altitudes.
